Wedding Invite & Bonbonniere
About This Project
Creating a wedding invite and guest gift is a very personal and difficult design challenge to rise too. Especially when you are creating it for your own wedding.
The challenge with a project such as this is deciding on a theme and sticking to it. We wanted the invite to reflect us as a couple and create intrigue about our decided venue – Boyd Baker House. For a long time we had been fond of Moroccan motifs and wanted the theme incorporated as a major part of the wedding. Hence we used the four point tile design and the dancing dragonfly’s – to reflect the natural bush land setting. To create intrigue an old world map of the venue was created and served as the back ground for the invitation and also guided guests to the wedding location. We had decided a tea towel was a great gift for our guests utilising the same themes and colours. The design of course needed to reflect the wedding and be homely. The Moroccan and dragonfly theme was carried over and the tea towels were screen printed in black and burnt orange giving choice and a little more spice to the overall look and feel of the wedding.
